Ah, yes, like French forces bombing the suburbs of Paris, and British forces bombing the suburbs of London.
Armies there to ‘protect’ the nation, Generals only ridding the country gently of all riffraff, having a different view always ’betrayal’, the opposition always ‘criminal’, people protesting peacefully, shot, bombed, subsequently arming themselves to resist cold-blooded execution, always ‘foreigners’, ceding, tolerating, sharing, alternating, always ‘cowardice’ and ‘defeat’.
That obtuse, atavistic scenario over and over again, this total lack of imagination, let alone grace, and having studied in the West a complete waste.
I don’t see al-Assad as a tyrant, I see him as deluded puppet not only of his own ruling gang who’ll kill him if he gives the shop away, but of the old Arab mind-set which ‘crushes’, can’t settle, that medieval stuff the North Koreans and Japan were also very good at: the inability to STOP.
Al-Assad a marked man, killed by either friend or foe if he doesn’t flee, that is finally having understood that when hundreds of thousands make it their life’s mission to eliminate you, you’re not loved even when others applaud and that what they were up was more than a trifling annoyance.
And that Honour andPride was equal to What will they think of me? Murder, now there’s the stuff of glory!
